Live First. Create Second. Repeat.
You don’t have to escape your life to feel alive. You just have to start noticing it.
We’ve been taught to keep things separate.
Work and play.
Freedom and ambition.
Living and building.
Like they can’t exist in the same sentence.
But what if they can?
What if living, properly living, is what gives your work meaning?
What if the life you’re living right now is already enough to build from?
That’s what this is really about.
Live first. Create second. But don’t stop.
But let’s be honest. What does living even mean?
It’s not about packing your whole life up to live alone on a remote island (unless that’s your thing). It’s not about escaping. It’s about choosing to be in your life. Letting the small things matter. Feeling it fully, even when it’s messy or uncertain. Doing things that light something in you, whether or not anyone else gets it.
It’s looking around you. Noticing what’s already there. Not being so focused on figuring yourself out that you miss what’s happening around you.
It’s watching how other people move through life.

That’s what living is to me. And it changed everything.
But I also know living is a privilege.
I’m not entitled to this life. It could be taken away from me at any point.
And that awareness is what drives me.
It’s what keeps me curious.
It’s why I say yes.
Because I know how lucky I am to even be here, doing this.
So I don’t take it lightly.
And that’s why I share it.
Because if you have the freedom to live differently, even just a little, you owe it to yourself to try.
To build something real.
To live like it matters.
To make it count.
I didn’t start out building Trendie.
I was a chalet girl. Scrubbing toilets. Making beds. Living and working with strangers. Working 12-hour days in a place that was both exhausting and kind of amazing at the same time.
No big plan. No five-year vision (not even a 6 month plan).
Just a feeling that I needed to be somewhere else, doing something that made me feel awake.
And when I started sharing bits of it, not to be impressive, just because I’d actually lived it, people felt it.
That story wasn’t just content. It was just my life.
And without me even trying, it got picked up by The Insider and CNN.
Not because I pitched it.
Not because I followed a strategy.
Because it was real. Because I’d lived it first.
And people can always tell.
We’re told that clarity comes from slowing down.
That you have to sit quietly and figure things out before you move.
But for me, clarity has come from motion.
From momentum. From being in places that made me feel something.
From doing the thing first and letting the story form after.
Some of my clearest thoughts have come in conversations I didn’t expect to have.
Some of my most defining ideas didn’t come from a plan.
They came from living.
You don’t always figure it out by thinking.
You figure it out by doing.
By saying yes.
By letting your life lead sometimes.
I wasn’t living first and building later.
I was living and creating at the same time.
Not in a chaotic, content-obsessed way.
In a way that felt real.
I was letting my life shape what I had to say, not the other way around.
It’s not about separating the two.
It’s about bringing them together.
They work hand in hand.
You live first, and then you capture it.
Not because it’s content for content’s sake.
But because it’s your life.
Because it meant something.
Because you want to remember it.
And maybe someone else might need to feel it too.
You don’t pause to package it.
You don’t wait.
You live. And then you build from that place.
And if someone tells you to slow down, they probably don’t know what it feels like to be so aligned that you don’t want to stop.
You might not know exactly where you’re going. But that’s the whole point.
That’s why you stay curious.
That’s why you stay awake.
That’s why you keep living and building at the same time.
So if you’re waiting for permission, this is it.
You don’t have to compromise one for the other.
You just have to start where you are.
Keep going.
Keep saying yes.
Keep living like it matters.
And let that life shape what you create.
Live first.
Create second.
But don’t stop.
Stay Trendie,
India x
